Fur And Party Blazer Guide For Winters | Stalk Buy Love - Part 2

Sunday, 24 January 2016 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

No matter how much I hate dressing up in winters, every other weekend of mine is usually out. Currently if we monitor our Delhi temperatures going as low as 4 Degrees, my hand always reach out for my  my Parka, function before fashion, a prototype that every Delhwala would not fail to demonstrate .
But every women needs a blazer or two for that outdoor barbeque or a nighttime bonfire, even though it doesn't  stand up against the bitter wind chills  well at least they turn the heat up  .
I have had my share of bling and prints before with blazers. But what was missing from my wardrobe was a well structured Black blazer.A perfect Black blazer is a brilliant bet to excite ,quick to throw on and can be easily layered with just anything formal or casual.
This is my second  blazer post with STALK BUY LOVE and if you haven't read the first one you can read that here.
The best part about Black blazers is that it can immediately change the tone of your outfit making it adapt to the situation you are in. Infact every women should be a proud owner of a tasteful black blazer in her closet. If you are clueless on the fit and what options you should bargain for, start with a plain , then maybe add variation in style like, double collar, double breasted, double lining etc.
I love the outlined hems, chaste yet, structured peplum edges of this one, and since the outside temperatures demanded that I layer up, hence very convincingly I also added this snug over the shoulders fur cape to add a bit of glamour in a flip .
The beautiful bracelet sent by Rhea Jewellery aligned nicely to create a spice like look with those green feathers and golden charms.
If you have been meandering in circles, and totally clueless on how to take your blazers through winters, I do hope that my Blazer Editions take that dilema off  and help you tiptoe through the tulips of  colour and glamour , so that a stylish transition to winter evenings gives you all a chance to build a solid and stylish blazer wardrobe  .

WHYS of Fashion Blogging

Tuesday, 28 January 2014 / , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Blogging in a way has taught me a lot ! Things which otherwise, I would have taken a decade to understand. From the start up days where I got caught up with technology handicap(I still am btw) to a time where its really hard to keep the standard of all the work and maintain it to a level . I never had a specific goal to begin with, other than making it a personal fashion blog Nor had a big revenue generating strategy ! Writing a post really allows me to sit and finish off a complete thought,go off on tangents address real and Imaginary critics- Yes I have had my share of  haters  losers who care to leave anonymous comments, be it spam, non- constructive criticism and crappy stuff (but the funny thing is that its actually not anonymous when we can track the IP address down --evil grin )For people like these - I just waste 5 sec of mine before hitting trash,at the same time feeling pathetic for their childish thought, and eat up the whole thing with a chuckle, and let it slide off ( ) I am pretty sure that I am not alone on this..
Its not that we are not open to healthy criticism and that I blog to get attention(though good comments/feedback is always welcome) What I am trying to say is that I am adapting myself to fashion trends, and suiting up my Armour to  engage with readers ! Blogging is actually getting into the meat and potatoes of individual talent, its my personal freedom to expose my  likes,n ideas which inspire me,or in simpler words a platform to discuss things we have in common ! Having said that everyone has a right to disapprove, and if you do, there are other means to communicate the same rather than to pigeon hole things and waste non- constructive thoughts on someones space who has no time for any shit and giggles- THAT'S WhY !
Moving to the outfit, wearing warmer shades with a bright neon bag, and lips. Oh ! Did I tell you that Mac Embrace me is  Mac candy Yum Yum twin sister ?

Winter Style Update- PLAID COAT

Thursday, 16 January 2014 / , , , , , , , , , , ,

The start of 2014 has been decent for me. Ok to be honest, It started on a good and fat note of splurge. My first PRADA bag is on the way, and I am counting days. I have been reading a lot of blogs, and the bloggers new year's resolution on how not to splurge this year I find myself  being a scrooge when I read them, grinning over silently and thinking, well at least its not my part of the plan yet !!
I don't have a humongous bag collection. I had always picked bags from customs store or from the streets during my hay college days, because I didn't have a "Sugar Daddy" to fund me.
Ever since I got married, I am allowed to buy just one bag a year. And I have the liberty to chose from any luxury brands,so that it lasts me a decade(we call them throw around bags). Now since I am trying to understand fashion better and I see it truly as an art form, I have started supporting all things creative and entrepreneurial. I have shifted my focus from being a lady who desires to Luxe to a lady who loves to be artsy.
I remember last time I got Mr. Hubs to snap at me when I bought this Dior inspired bag from Bangkok.
let me quote him for you- " Money is meant to be spent (read – used wisely), not hoarded. Your satisfaction (or any other synonym) depends on how smartly you spend it. Skip it up and I'll buy you a Dior next year "
Guess my over enthusiasm for Prada is only a way to beat the winter blues. Its shivering cold in Delhi, but nothing compared to the -48C in most of North America ! This Blankety scarf and My new Asos knee boots are a sure means to keep off the wind chill factor.

Brand Spotlight- AMERICAN SWAN

Saturday, 4 January 2014 / , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Wishing Everyone a Very Happy New Year ! I am back after a mini vacation from Kerala with God's own eclectic influence on me :) We had so much fun - I'm in total withdrawal now! How did I ever survive cooking and cleaning when I could be on the lakeside all day?? Getting away gives such a great perspective on your life.Vacation is like a drug-the high before, the great feeling during, and the downer after. Sometimes I think it's not worth the emotional roller coaster-but then I wanna pack up and move out soon again !! Really intended to do the first post of New year on the 1st of this month, but could not(had a technology n gadget handicap u see) But life would give me a better chance next year.

Online shopping is an area in which we’re proudly adept, and among a few other bookmarking shopping websites I have recently added American Swan, line of clothing.
I picked up this Varsity jacket and was pleasantly surprised with the quality, in comparison with the low prices. Its pretty warm for me to stand a 4degree Delhi chill especially when I had an early morning flight to catch. Its comfy, sensible pockets and completely blocks the wind from the front to keep the wearer nice and cosy.
These Chinos too are a pretty good fit and the material feels great and breathable. The website has a cloud of categories, and a whole lotta options to pick and choose from. The women’s selection appears to be mostly basics, with a few trendy items thrown in the mix. I did not go through the men section :(
There’s no denying that the site has a very welcome mode with ease of ordering in addition to the e-commerce landscape, and one that I’ll be checking often as new items roll in.
When you pick out something you like, head over to the accessories section—they offer some cool bags and accessories to match your purchase. :P

Mix The Prints

Tuesday, 24 December 2013 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Recently I discovered that I could do so much with my current wardrobe, that I don't mind going on a shopping ban ( I am keeping that for the New years resolution as of now )
Until an year back, I was minimalistic at heart, and enjoyed keeping the look clean accompanied with plain textures ! A sight of plains, neutrals and stripes dominated my closet then. Today all I wanna do is just add essential trends and freshen up my basics rather than go on shopping endlessly. I don't think I would have tried mixing prints a few years ago, but am finally glad, that I decided to walk this route. As of now, lets call it a mixed-print baby step .
If mixing prints feels too overwhelming, try layering a long-sleeve striped top under something solid.  Take the look to a next level by adding a printed accessory (leopard shoes, scarf, camo pants, etc.).

By the time you read this post I would be taking time off from the blog for a while and spend these holidays with my family and in self enrichment ! Delhi is going to be frigid in few days(as per weather reports) And I am gonna shake off these winter chills, by going to someplace warm !! It might be difficult to update on the blog, but I would be live and very active on my Insta feed !
 Merry Christmas folks
xoxo

Lavie Accessories New Collection for A/W-2014

Wednesday, 11 December 2013 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Last Weekend  I attended Lavie's Bloggers Meet and greet at Select City walk , Saket. The whole idea was to introduce us to the new range of bags and footwear collection and it was glad to see the brand incorporating the latest trends. I always associated Lavie with typical carry to work style bags, and it was interesting to see them bring neon colors to their collection . The bags are sturdy and if you have tendency to stuff your bags with almost anything n everything, then they have a few structured ones as well with roomy compartments .Though in my opinion they should consider adding some glowing/party clutches coz every women needs a sequined something for a glamorous night out in town. But guess its gonna be a while before they incorporate these under their umbrella. As for the footwear collection, nothing fancy, but if you are looking for a robust shoe, that should last you good,  Lavie would not fail you.

I bought these Lavie Nude pumps which I switched over with my boots , and then walked the whole mall for an Hour ! I think I can trust them for a lil more walking whenever next !!

Concert look| What To Wear To a Concert

Friday, 6 December 2013 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

If one would go today to a concert, and the singer would yell “Put your hands up high” you will see just the hands with phones with cameras, which record the concert. The hands are up even if the singer is not asking to raise them up. Everyone today is so obsessed with recording or taking pictures of every event. People want to externalize everything. Guess we forget at times that Photography is just a tool to make a product well know to the world !!
Talking about Photography there is a  famous saying which we would have heard a gazillion times “Use a picture. It’s worth a thousand words” and as a matter of fact its a simple truth about photographs. Sometimes a paper with an image on is more convincing than a story with reasons and arguments.
Big brands like Michael Kors just goes ahead and hires the best New York commercial photographer, to do their marketing and create some really fashionable promos, which eventually are seen  about everywhere. That's it !! It starts and ends with a picture. The photographs speak for the products. The thousand words, a picture can say, are sometimes the perfect words for everyone. Because every single person in the end would pick up what they like to see. If there is something we enjoy, we will go back again to it, but if we loathe it, we will simply not look at it or ignore it completely. Pictures do not scream, they do not bother you. Pictures are not noisy. There are just two possibilities - ignore it or admire it. The impression they leave, depends totally on the person who looks at them.
Nh7 weekender pulled out the madness in Delhi last weekend. And we made most of the moment by taking a lot of pictures... I mean these !! By the time we reached the venue , the battery died, and the excitement couldn't be conveyed more :(  Do they also say- That There is a Next time ???

Life goes by pretty fast, if you don't stop to look around once in a while, and have some fun, you could see it go quickly ! Likewise, what's the fun of taking pictures, when you don't have some fabulous clicks of awfulness ? And believe you me, when it comes looking awful , I am the queen of expressiveness , Probably have more of  my stupid outtakes pictures than of good ones, and then having the guts to put everything on record right here and sharing it publicly, when all you want to do is tend to be more subtle ?? Takes hell lotta courage for me at least !! But then every once in a while, I love putting my blog through a vent of fresh air, by sliding in a character and saying something like "psst-- wanna see something cool?
Trying to correct the way MOSCHINO is pronounced .Most Indians (due to the language flow) call it- "Mauka cheeno" (in English- opportunist)
