Gold , Monochrome And Leopard print

leoprad print shoes and bag online
Is there ever a thing like tasteful animal print ? Read on.
I always had a hidden admiration for anything leopard print. Since I  found them very bold, I garnered my love for them in tiny indulgences. As with any bold trend, I always wore it
sparingly for obvious reasons coz I didn't want everyone to look at me  as if an animal has
crawled onto my back and slumped over.
Today I introduce these prints slowly and subtly inserted into this post, with the safest bet of the season i.e "Monochromes ".
Leopard prints are fabulous. I prefer them anyday over feline and snake prints . Some think of it as over the top fiercely feminine style, but the fact is that I love how they shoot up the style meter.
Today's look is on a cleaner and simple lines ,where the only highlight point is these stunning gold jewellery in semi precious settings from Eurumme . There is something about bright gold jewellery that's totally up my fashion avenue . It gets my power of affirmation, as I love glamorous stretches of abundant gold jewellery, and Eishita's pieces fill up that corner for me.
The leopard print, enhanced this streamlined fusion look I created, added the spunk, while the spots are hot.coz they are hard to beat, especially when they are the runway's fashion perennial .

DAY4 #AIFWSS16 DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT - ANEETH ARORA - I LOVE PERO

/ , ,

Day 4 - ANEETH ARORA'S
PYJAMA PARTY
I LOVE PERO FOR - AIFWSS16

I love Pero- The invite was nothing fancy, but held a lot of emojis  and hashtags in a whatsapp message, inviting all the gals to a pyjama party. The idea sounded fun , exciting, and very innovative, and never done before on the Indian ramp.
So strong was the backing of  pyjama dressing , that practically, the models were just being themselves, jumping on the beds, candid laughs, sleepover gossips, throwing pillows, dancing, and secretly admiring their 60's crush in candid peek-a boo laughters.
The bed linen shades of white and blue made the most overt bedtime references. The dresses were super casual, khadi shorts, cotton button up skirts, and gingham print headband scarves.
The pin-stripes were the happy middle ground, and were palatable for a fun outwear appearances.
The collection was very laid back, and accessed a restful theme.Simple sun-dresses ,pyjamas co-ordinates added a fresh zeal, for an activewear attired morning starts.
Swinging glances from the audience were the proof, that nobody wanted the slumber party to end.
There were boxers in the goodie bag. I wore them when I came home, and languished in my sheets, thinking that it was a show I could never forget .

DAY 3 | #AIFWSS16 | DESIGNERS SPOTLIGHT | Nida Mahmood | 431-88 | Amit

Thursday 15 October 2015 / ,

DAY 3- NIDA MAHMOOD FOR AIFWSS16
JUNGLEE BILLEE

I expected a lot of cat fight or some high end feline approach to the ramp since her collection was called "Wild cat "None happened, but the massive head gears surely got us the vibe.
The collaboration with Adidas originals was the high point, and I jumped when the Sari's were paired with wedge neon sneakers(all from adidas).
She is known for her quirky prints ,(#queenofkitsch) and that's what the prints were all about. Inspired by her love for vintage and art deco, there is always a new appeal and a fresh outlook to her prints, and the design movement was pretty strong.
There was an  eclectic mix of antiquated elements as props (vintage camera, radio etc) as well as modern territories of innovative ways of sari draping. There was a unique freshness to the graphics and looked  cutting edge on the simple shifts and dresses.

#AIFWSS16 DAY 3 DESIGNERS SPOTLIGHT | POONAM DUBEY | ARCHANA RAO | NIKHITA

DAY 3 POONAM DUBEY FOR AIFWSS16

The Masakali vibes opened the show for Poonam Dubey. The song has a lot of emotions, and the  fusion Indian wear presented had similar feelings, for eg from gypsy vibes, to phulkari work on the dupattas, Angrakha paired with white dhotis, mirror work , intricate thread weaving and jalli design sitting pretty on the back, took us on a humming note and my mind wandered a wee bit to the lanes of Delhi-06 .
The colour palette carried different hues of blue. Interesting patchwork, delicate capes panelled skirts , and flared lehengas were the main highlights of her collection. The sari had lovely pocket detailing, and the lehengas were made for twirling.

#AIFWSS16 | DAY 2 | DESIGNER'S SPOTLIGHT - ANAND BHUSHAN AND DEV R NIL

Wednesday 14 October 2015 /

ANAND BHUSHAN FOR AIFWSS16

Anand Bhushan's  collection made me fall in love tennis shoes, and everything sporty. So I thought of putting my tennis cap on and write this post, and present a few snippets from my photo diary from the AIFWSS Bhushan's show.
The ramp was converted to a tennis court, and the collection started on a with basic skirts and bra tanks.Since I am still deeply enamoured with the sports luxe trend , there were not one but more than one gawking moments for me during the show.  From knitted dresses, to leather jackets, and cocktail dresses in georgette , and  mermaid gowns all paired with tennis shoes.

HEMANT&NANDITA | SPRING/SUMMER

AIFW2016

‘YOU CAN’T CATCH A WILD FLOWER’
Big bold flowers in all shapes and sizes, Deja Vu, tales of a 60s child advancing to today's times , swept off some gentle memoirs at the show.
Mustard magic, my kind of weekend yellow with big bold floral sunflower graphics, acid colours, lace plackets and loose silhouettes gave a free spirited vibe. The art inspired clothing line  saw some loose fit pantsuits, jumpsuits and button up skirts with large utility pockets. The dresses were kept short and sweet , neat A-lines with bold accessories and briefcase bags were the highlights of the entire show.

#AIFWSS16 Day 1 - Shivan and Narresh

Tuesday 13 October 2015 /

Among the series of shows on Day 1 my favorite had to be Shivan Narresh. It was an offsite venue , Hotel Imperial and with an exciting association with kohler India, to present new range of luxurious kohler faucets (kohler couture).
It was fun to see illustrated and artistic interpretation of the faucets in the clothes, and a very out of the box thinking . From the flow of water illustrated in flowing drapes, fluidity of garments to the cuts and drapes depicting sharp contours.
The embellishments were interesting, neoprene saris being the highlight , and luxuriously done  beach/swim wear elevating it to high fashion, with chic, sexy and glam swimwear for women who loves to amp up her beach wardrobe.
The cuts were fit to flatter, an the colour palette was inspired by the paintings of a most renowned mexican artist Diego Rivera. Designers tried to interpret his art into colors , and an array of different prints and graphics being explored . Have a look

My Shaving Experience With Gillette Venus and Shaving tips

Monday 12 October 2015 /

Our body hair debate has been going on for a long time starting from me attending the first Gillette Meet, busting a few myths and norms related to shaving and then turn by turn embarking and venturing and fit into the mainstream beauty expectation .
Is Shaving safe ? Will my hair turn coarse after shaving ? What about skin darkening ?
The media, and has put tremendous pressure socially that shaving is the right thing to do.Infact its trendy and wins over the most dominant shaving methods.
Coming back to my experience, I have switched to shaving after ridiculously waxing my legs , even after laser treatment. Though my hair still takes ages to swiftly grow, but thankfully its not spiked(my worst fear)

Day 1 #AIFWSS16 - ANAVILA Misra

Wednesday 7 October 2015 / ,

Day 1 -
Anavila- I have been stalking them on Instagram, and have been in love with the fascinating saree's that she has created. The drapes are so relaxed , and comforted that they looked so effortless while on the ramp too.
The best part about her sari's are that one need not be a size petite to carry them off. I have seen women of all sizes carrying an Anavila on her Instagram ,including a lot of celebrities, and they looked beautiful .
The collection named Balance ,saw different weaves, but the colour was muted, with cream, and beige and grey. The fabric was luxe khadi, natural dye and woven linen which are a breeze looking at the hot months we face in our country.

Day 1 #AIFW Sanjay Garg - Mashru

/

Day 1 opened with Sanjay garg presenting his collection "Mashru ", meaning Shari which comes from Arabic word means "permitted by Islamic law". Mashru came to India via Silk route , and woven in India , Gujarat and UP.The hall smelt of fresh Mogra flowers the minute I entered.Even the ceiling was decorated beautifully,(pic below).
The collection saw garments in rich colours in Silk and shine.Raw Mango brought Mashru back with little modifications, limiting mashru on the borders and the rest of the material in cotton, for heat bearing climates. The colour palette was rich and luxurious with easy drapes, which did not conflict the movement.

Ready for Your Close-up? Three Lipstick Looks Inspired by the Red Carpe

Sunday 4 October 2015 / , ,

In the last few years, stylish ladies all over the world have fallen in love with the simple, the effortless, the “no-make-up” makeup: loose waves, lineless eyes, and bare lips. But there’s nothing like awards season to put the glamour back in every girl’s imagination. With weeks of red carpets right around the corner, there’s no better time to spruce up your makeup stash for an all-new look and an all-new you.
This has been a season of throwbacks, as the trendsetters in Los Angeles, Mumbai, and Paris move away from the simple, rough-around-the-edges looks that ruled the first ten years of the millennium. Fresh from the beach waves have given way to luxurious updos and sleek ponytails, and the bare lip of last year is now a full, bold pop of colour.
How can you get those dramatic looks in your own bathroom mirror? Here’s three places to start.
