Move Over Cannes Lilac - It's time for some Violet Lips

Friday, 20 May 2016 / , , , , , , , , ,

Sometimes our clothes should reflect the power we want , rather than the power we have. The prototype of power dressing keeps changing when the trends evolve which is now at a pace all fashionistas have to cope up fast. There is a new kind of democracy emerging in the fashion world, which brings a new wave of blood to the fashion sector and then you can hell do with whatever the freaking shit you want for the sake of  being an emerging fashionista and they will think that you are part of the flow. When things become cutting edge they evoke a spark, just like Aishwarya Rai's Lilac lips at the Cannes festival 2016. I may bear the risk of sounding snob, but what was all that going *drools* my gawd reaction ? What was so extraordinary about it that it shocked the system ?  From becoming a full size feature with headlines like " Breaking Cannes Red Carpet rules ", this lilac bomb exploded everywhere.
Lilac, blue green , black lippies have been arresting lip colours, and are meant for the drama queens and rebel punks. The bold lips aficionados, have been there all over the internet, and they are called beauty and sometimes fashion bloggers. We have traded in our lip gloss with these bold lips, and have put up everything online for you all to see. Some failed and some applauding comments later, we still stand here with some cutting edge lips that may put the makers of smurfs to shame. We are not perfect, but we try, we fail, we again try and so on. So my question is are the fashion writers(print and digital ) so dumb to only accept a trend when a celebrity "Twilights" them ? For starters, " baby the hibernation period is over" , and it's time for you to forecast trends much before bloggers do. The moment is nothing when its ripe, and in this case, everyone scrambling to replicate the crisp news, was rather shocking to see them suddenly awakening to the cyber presence with headlines like "new trends to watch out for "
Today's post is my reaction to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's lilac lips. Thank god I did not put up this post earlier, although having shot this look early this month.
I am wearing a deep violet lip shade (mixed two shades to get the result ). Although this post would have been about this lovely skirt from Roora By Ritam, but this Aish lilac lips was creating too much smog over the internet, and needed some dusting off .
I always wanted a skirt in a perfect hue of blue. When I opened the package, this was exactly my kinda blue dipped in a little bit of ombre from the bottom. It was a hotty day and every windy second was precious while I kept on waiting for my twirly moment. That didn't happen but what happened as a result of glares and stares from the people surprised by an overwhelming look, made us suspend the twirl moment , and leave that for some other outfit post.

Balance in Fusion | Fashion East Meets West

Thursday, 28 April 2016 / , , , , , , , , , , ,

Sometimes I am envious of women dressed in Indian finery. If you know me well, I love getting a good dossier mix which the bloggers(including me ) have smartly coined as fusion .So what exactly is this fusion we are talking about ? For all I get right now, and where the sartorial pages of fashion take me , I  think it's a progressive or rather smart interpretation of east meets west  or a path less ordinary . No we are not talking about the silk route but a right balance of  standard strata of Indian accents .
There is this cultish contemporary affiliation or status quo when it comes to Indian fashion.
There is a new world where we want to show that we have switched codes enough ,to wear a dhoti with a knotted shirt, saree with jeans, or blouse over a dress etc... and infuse elements in a fin-de-siecle way .
But you know what ? We are not the only ones embracing this trend . Beyonce in Coldplay video, and coachella which happened earlier this month are proof enough that now Indian fusion is not the path less ordinary. It's a pleasing break from the rigid adherence and is fundamentally altering the way we decode the customary form of dressing.
So here I am , wearing a slit skirt, with a long shirt dress both from StalkBuyLove, a dupatta to indulge with the mathapatti, and bangles bought from Bapubazaar Jaipur, and give you suffusion of my character in a form that you would clearly see more in times to come posts to come.
P.S- I wore this outfit to my friend's Chura ceremony.
Contd- From Part 1 series of Indian Ethnic fusion Fashion. Part 3 coming soon :)

Happiness Boutique Statement Earrings and Red Sheer Skirt

Today I have collaborated with Happiness Boutique to tell you how high my Happiness quotient is right now . Happiness Boutique is an online store based in Berlin Germany and have some pretty high quality, lustworthy accessories and They offer free shipping too ;)
I had been stalking them from a long time, and when they approached me to collaborate I jumped.
These black tassel thread earrings have beautiful detailing , and looks damn expensive. In fact they lent out a very enriching feel to my outfit. I have another pair from them in crystal , which I am gonna wear soon.
For the outfit part- Ya'll know that I have my own brand under the name LabelTFF. It has been moving about with a little turtle pace as of now, but doing not so bad either. I don't stock a lot of piece as of now, but soon , you would see me full fledged diving into my creations.
My head to knee look is from the latest stock. Had to show you the beautiful tulip  hem detailing of this cotton silk blouse. Its straight , simple and yet luxe. Don't miss the kaftan sleeves with the same cut, perfect for  toning down with blingy outfits.
The skirt is a beautiful red (more like a Mac ruby woo red, which I am also wearing on my lips currently), with a sexy twisted hemline, and shimmery underlining, which in a subtle way adds extra elegance to the piece. Just a few statement pieces here and there can add up to the fashion fire .
There is a super cute Happiness video produced by them, delivering the essence of the boutique and how they strived to make everyone happy and cheerful. You have to check out this infectious happiness spreading  video by them. I bet you could start dancing as well.

This post has the maximum pictures in the history of my blogpost writing, and I loved everybit of it.So let me keep everything else short and show you a around a bit of a haul things which would never get old in the fashion world scenario .

The Chutney(Indian Sauce was the only saving grace in the meal. Ragi and Bajra rotis were pretty hard, Saag(spinach) was tasteless too.

Fashion And Beach Wear | Thailand Phuket Travel Post

Monday, 1 September 2014 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Both the pieces I am wearing here can be officially termed as Vintage. Fashion and trends have become so dynamic, that the next thing vintage in anyone's closet could be just a month old. Before and Unlike today, We had practically four seasons and a few designers and we loved the way fashion n designs evolved each year enchanting us . Times changed and we are witnessing practically 50 seasons and really diving into trends almost on a fortnightly basis. There is lot of innovation waiting to happen, and the next minute you know, that pretty " Brand new "neon dress was left hanging coz the future of fashion was bound to follow the lines which replaced the trend. I call it creative destruction ! A question : Why can't all fashion shows be an extension of what we already have ? Something a customer could use to build or expand the wardrobe ? Something which serves just an addition to our preserved staples and  where old could still be called Vintage?  Think about it !

Life goes by pretty fast, if you don't stop to look around once in a while, and have some fun, you could see it go quickly ! Likewise, what's the fun of taking pictures, when you don't have some fabulous clicks of awfulness ? And believe you me, when it comes looking awful , I am the queen of expressiveness , Probably have more of  my stupid outtakes pictures than of good ones, and then having the guts to put everything on record right here and sharing it publicly, when all you want to do is tend to be more subtle ?? Takes hell lotta courage for me at least !! But then every once in a while, I love putting my blog through a vent of fresh air, by sliding in a character and saying something like "psst-- wanna see something cool?
Trying to correct the way MOSCHINO is pronounced .Most Indians (due to the language flow) call it- "Mauka cheeno" (in English- opportunist)

Judgemental -How many times (iii)

Friday, 5 October 2012 / , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Continued:
After dipping my feet into the sandy beaches, adorned with miles of palmy trees, we decided to go on an exploring trip ! Rented a bike and went beach combing ! Came back tired ,just in time to watch a spectacular sunset and took some candid shots ! Later in the evening attended some Indian musical classical concert and did some dancing too ! Since this skirt of mine had already become a favorite(refer previous post),this time I paired it with a cropped tee and some statement earrings and wore a neon lip-color,so that my family could easily find me in the dark !
I was so lucky to get this skirt from e-bay for a great bargain of 30$ and  feel I have done complete justice to the price since I already wore it a number of times(rain gods choice).  Men and women are very different when it comes to this, isn't it? but we all know women are more into looks and outer appearance than men, and its simple because they want to remain and feel special ! Of cource there is no harm in this , but discerning people on the basis of clothes(always) can get them wrong at times !!

Have you worn any outfit continuously in a row? and that too in front of the same people?Do share your thoughts !

Dressing Games:How many times-(ii)

Friday, 28 September 2012 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Continued.....
So here I am again, bringing -How many times-ii series, plus I'll also show you how to rock an umbrella inside out !Skirt worn as a dress on a tanned body, plus some margaritas down my throat,on a windy evening, a girl holding on to an umbrella is not everyone's cup of tea you know what I mean ! Right attitude, wrong timing ,margaritas and this skirt dress was definitely not a correct choice at that time of the day ! I almost felt like being hit by a mini tornado or something ! Nevertheless, I was at my quirky best ,acted dippy and LOLed unreasonably, amusing my family and nearby onlookers, while others assumed that I am a grown up who knows how to behave weird- I didn't care a bit !All this came to an end soon when my hubby showed me the video he taped, which really freaked me out as well !
P.S - I was refrained from displaying few weird ones(family readers issues) ,so the only sober shots make their way to the post

Wearing: Skirt as dress-here,necklace-here,flipflops-janpath,sunnies-hongkong,belt-Kazo
More to this series, coming up soon........
