Balance in Fusion | Fashion East Meets West

Sometimes I am envious of women dressed in Indian finery. If you know me well, I love getting a good dossier mix which the bloggers(including me ) have smartly coined as fusion .So what exactly is this fusion we are talking about ? For all I get right now, and where the sartorial pages of fashion take me , I  think it's a progressive or rather smart interpretation of east meets west  or a path less ordinary . No we are not talking about the silk route but a right balance of  standard strata of Indian accents . 

There is this cultish contemporary affiliation or status quo when it comes to Indian fashion.

There is a new world where we want to show that we have switched codes enough ,to wear a dhoti with a knotted shirt, saree with jeans, or blouse over a dress etc... and infuse elements in a fin-de-siecle way .

But you know what ? We are not the only ones embracing this trend . Beyonce in Coldplay video, and coachella which happened earlier this month are proof enough that now Indian fusion is not the path less ordinary. It's a pleasing break from the rigid adherence and is fundamentally altering the way we decode the customary form of dressing.

So here I am , wearing a slit skirt, with a long shirt dress both from StalkBuyLove, a dupatta to indulge with the mathapatti, and bangles bought from Bapubazaar Jaipur, and give you suffusion of my character in a form that you would clearly see more in times to come posts to come.

Stepping Into The world of Larimar Jewellery and Flower Child

I did something out of my comfort zone . I am not a florals on my head kind of a girl. Tiaras set me up on a sneeze spree, and I tried to stay away from them as much I could from very long. 

On the contrary, I love playing with headgears. They let me display the un-mundane and the enchanted. 

It's my first time doing Hippie- De-Luxe on the blog, and the only inspiration to do something like this are these beautiful Larimar Bracelets studded with Turquoise Larimar Stones- ( also known as the Jewel of Atlantis,)  crafted in sterling silver and sent by Daniela  straight from Dominican Republic. They just effortlessly make the whole combo so relevant and that's what I love for my Jewellery to have. 

I always wanted to dose this floaty dress in graphics with a pairing of something floral, and since the word BOHO has become the most intolerant word on social media (pun ..pun ..Pls) it's time to BOHOCIDE and bring out pretty prairie elements from the look which knocks Boho for a while. 

Anyways throngs of yesterdays new borns on Instagram would be enough to give you boho inspiration, and all you gotta look out for is a hashtag and be enraptured to see the number of levels boho has been taken to. Can  I pass that tissue box now ?

Inspired By Prints

The summers are here in full swing, and before we could say hello sweaty days and rolled up hair, I am sure you would have got your summer dresses in place . I am gonna be hitting the beach soon, for my annual roll in the sun and sand.  Using this is an excuse ,I think I could really use some swimwear and beachwear inspiration . 

My current mood swings between me visually embracing this swimwear, somewhere in Hawaii, until the reality shakes me . And since I have started living in the moment,this harmless little fantasy helps me in releasing all good hormones , and that maybe a good thing for now (Just guessing)

For the outfit, it's not the first time I have started  embracing bright colors, big prints and bold graphics . They always let me celebrate my individuality. From low-key prints to high intense ones, I have had countless moments showcasing them all. Safe to say that I have tested the graphic waters and the verdict is - That interesting color combinations are the key to mixing prints.

But this post focus on the key colors of the game. Yes, let's talk in-your-face red ,eye catching and unexpected highlight of Indian fusion boldness.

Wearing a Choli as a crop top had never occurred to me before, and recently after looking at  this , I went back to the archives of my photo  gallery and decided to put up the pictures, which I had been contemplating from so long. In case you haven't guessed , the blouse/choli is exactly what I wore for my Diwali Post last year. 

It was fun creating this look. These pants were bought from Bangkok, when Disney didn't even begin to street style. Not the pants , but you would love the  disney collection by Satya Paul. Use this code to get it at a bargain and try and  rework  some #disneydust in your outfits too.

Designer " MANISH ARORA" At India Couture Week -2014

This is the last post on a round-up of India Couture Week 2014, and I am happy to save the best for last.

Designer Manish Arora is the only person , who did  something "hatke"(different) from the mainstream couture that made our eyes bleed in" Awe" . Such Opulence and Bespoke Collection worthy of making us look at Couture differently .Sumptuous outfits and Impeccable jewelry was used, that managed to  encompass delicacy, and Effortless beauty, and I would be lying if I say that anything pleased my eyes with that much intensity the way  Manish Arora's Couture show did. It was  an offsite venue at French embassy with Grandness Unlimited, and so much to suck up and learn !
FYI- Manish Arora is the only designer to be showcasing at Paris Fashion week every year , and it was the rumored reason he decided to keep the venue at the French Ambassador residence.

I can go on and on and  talk about the technique and the magic of craft until out of breath, but the fact remains, he is the guy who merged the techniques of Couture into far more realistic and viable ready to wear market and a sense of Shall I say- Legitimacy ?

His Lehengas didn't have any Dupattats, instead crafty and fancy headgear's were used that made most designers look down their nose. Each garment had a story, a story which perpetuates a Cinderella fantasy and the outfits were compelling in themselves. He showcased six different lines and stories titled: "The Peacock", "The Crown", "The Jewels", "The Light Fantastic", "Iridescent" and "Temari".  
The Hologram Shararas got a new Daring edge ,Psychedelic colors with interpreted hues were kept up ! Architectural motifs  moorish style inspired by the 16th century Peacock room Castel-lo di Sammezzano Italy, were rendered perfectly depicting Rainbow Hues !
The stage was circular and drew inspiration from a Village pond and to keep up with this theme the women wore head wear in shapes of Lotus and roses and some even had an offbeat Egyptian tribal edge not to forget those Huge in d face Pom-Poms right on the nose.

At last I am quite yearning of his craft work and verbose beauty showcased to seep its way outside the couture community , so that everyone makes the most of it.
And "I want to wear that Hologram Sharara and look mean someday "Amen"
