Move Over Cannes Lilac - It's time for some Violet Lips

Sometimes our clothes should reflect the power we want , rather than the power we have.The prototype of power dressing keeps changing when the trends evolve which is now at a pace all fashionistas have to cope up fast. There is a new kind of democracy emerging in the fashion world, which brings a new wave of blood to the fashion sector and then you can hell do with whatever the freaking shit you want for the sake of  being an emerging fashionista and they will think that you are part of the flow. When things become cutting edge they evoke a spark, just like Aishwarya Rai's Lilac lips at the Cannes festival 2016. I may bear the risk of sounding snob,but what was all that going *drools* my gawd reaction ? What was so extraordinary about it that it shocked the system ?  From becoming a full size feature with headlines like " Breaking Cannes Red Carpet rules ", this lilac bomb exploded everywhere. 

Lilac, blue green , black lippies have been arresting lip colours, and are meant for the drama queens and rebel punks. The bold lips aficionados, have been there all over the internet, and they are called beauty and sometimes fashion bloggers. We have traded in our lip gloss with these bold lips, and have put up everything online for you all to see. Some failed and some applauding comments later, we still stand here with some cutting edge lips that may put the makers of smurfs to shame. We are not perfect, but we try, we fail, we again try and so on. So my question is are the fashion writers(print and digital ) so dumb to only accept a trend when a celebrity "Twilights" them ? For starters, " baby the hibernation period is over" , and it's time for you to forecast trends much before bloggers do. The moment is nothing when its ripe, and in this case, everyone scrambling to replicate the crisp news, was rather shocking to see them suddenly awakening to the cyber presence with headlines like "new trends to watch out for "

Today's post is my reaction to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's lilac lips. Thank god I did not put up this post earlier, although having shot this look early this month.

I am wearing a deep violet lip shade (mixed two shades to get the result ). Although this post would have been about this lovely skirt from Roora By Ritam, but this Aish lilac lips was creating too much smog over the internet, and needed some dusting off .

I always wanted a skirt in a perfect hue of blue. When I opened the package, this was exactly my kinda blue dipped in a little bit of ombre from the bottom.It was a hotty day and every windy second was precious while I kept on waiting for my twirly moment. That didn't happen but what happened as a result of glares and stares from the people surprised by an overwhelming look, made us suspend the twirl moment , and leave that for some other outfit post.

Fringes | Tassels And Statement Glasses | Street Style Amazon India Fashion Week

There is a lot of pressure to look our best during fashion week. When you are amongst a vibe of the trendiest crowd of the city, you soak in . Yet somewhere between high glamour, bloggers are the ones who render some amazing street style. Its true. The bloggerati is the new race for static fashion . These chicks are not only visible, but visibly beautiful in extreme winsomeness moments.

Amongst everybody's endeavour to look top notch, there is  a little bit of me ( not trying too hard) but love to play a different character on each of the days and bringing a chunk of change altogether with what I regularly do on the blog. And clearly, I love to add my own punch to everything. 

Fashion week infuses that bolt of extra energy, and there I go probably mining my closet to find my seasoned companions in clothes, accessory and bags. Yes there is no rest for the fashionable weary.

On one of my mining days, I undercovered this fringe skirt, which I had never worn .Chords struck, and there was a speech bubble which popped in my head, when I was just halfway with a Jackie chan movie on the television. Yin and Yan I shouted.  Clearly I found my balance in this white and tan ensemble, and by happenstance or not there I was with a random test tube outfit which reminded me of summers.

There is something about that muted Ivory colour and a mix of  soil tan. The freshness and the energy derived from the fusion of these two shades is high volt but still in the sophisticated bracket and fit for my fashion week entry. 

Everything is over as we exchange this post. The pics are not even from this season, but its summers. and the wistful mood still lingers. So why not I give cadre of my new fans a crack on something that can be cycled on easily these summers ??

Winter Ponchos | Capes| Asymmetrical Skirts And Fashion Knee High Boots

The last leg of winters are playing their usual game. It gets cold in the evening , but scorching heat during the day makes me  want to look at closetful of my sleeveless, waiting to be shaken off  the airtight.

But till that happens, lets take a look out there at my white boots , and this pretty  Poncho.

January had been an unfettered month, filled with boom and bust, lots of travelling , and experimenting fashion in different climates. How ? Let me explain...

There are some outfits which practically doesn't need much of thinking, and you throw a few pieces together, and you get- Boom- the mode of the day !!! Now see what I am talking about ?? (Boom-you got it )

It was one such day, where I practically did no thinking , except only cared to linger on the streets of India Gate (delhi), and see how they were taking up with the upcoming rehearsals for the 67th Republic Day Parade, and do some strutting alongside, matching boot whites to boot whites(u dont want to know what my auto-correct just suggested for boot haha ). 

Minutes later, after happily swirling in my cape or better just call it a Poncho,(it doesn't matter, coz the feminism of this piece, doesn't let me exercise dark and underground),It got crowded while the parliament was in full swing, and people came out of their offices to have lunch.

Their angle and sight was worth their lunch time, which made me pretty uncomfortable feeling a bit oddly dressed. Look at those knee high boots youuu. The stares kept on going from the boots and upwards, and for some it stopped at that hint of  flesh c/o this asymmetric skirt,not a good thing outdoors with staggering 400 multi-gender eyes but nevertheless it was a shoot , and what ought to be done should be done.

I kept my rest of the look pretty sleek, and didn't want to volumize any other part of my body, hence this bodylicious or booty-licious hugging (very red carpetyy) asymmetric skirt, came to light with full force.  

Maybe the feeling was not that good on that day, but it surely is great at the moment as I pen down my thoughts and my response to the world around me. It was an underscore tribute to fashion on one of the most scenic place of our country in a best way I knew. Perhaps I should dismiss this feeling and rest my case, so that you move over the pictures, and let me know what you feel about this look?

Dipped In Metallics- Spring Trend 2013

Metallics are rocking this season, and they are very easy to wear n carry off. Its always interesting how this trend got a notch higher after being used on nails and jewellery for some time and grabbed a full fledged entry into every girls wardrobe ! I Hauled these metallic gold pants from Asos about four months back. Didn't get a chance to wear them as I was literally unsure what to wear them with ! How fascinating it is that some spring closet cleaning could yield  great combinations/options which never strike though otherwise .I think its every girl issue,and we face the same problem everyday(well some might don't too) !
While you wish to take this trend a step further,here are a few basics which according to me should not be overlooked:
Metallics always highlight whatever body part you wear it on,hence show off with caution.
Maximize your look by pairing them with neutrals
Head to toe metallic avatar is a no-no, unless you are in a Halloween party and you are dressed up as Mithun Da from the eighties !
