Pastels And Culottes

Dressed up in two trends yet again - Pastels and Culottes Before this trend became a thing, I had always imagined myself wearing a pastel dress to a tea-party or something maybe more powdery like a coral shorts to a beach. But never in my thoughts I had thought of pairing femininity with a little androgyny. Little if you are wondering,The humble Culotte can  be tomboy-playful , Not just girly sweet, but they can be often softened if u choose to throw a blush pink layer, a mint bag, and get all Macarooni. 

What more you could think of is some sweet thoughts like you in Paris, walking in seasons trendy clothes, and just walked out of a major fashion show making pastels less pretty and more "ME " 

Usually I would love to go for prints, but today, I am wearing a little stripe in action via- StalkBuyLove. Unless u don't wanna catch me dead in picture perfect pink ;) these Culottes allowed me to have a grown-up and strong take on pastel, still allowing me to show my girly side:)

I picture Pastels with everything Fondant and Sugary and then the whole color talk becomes more of edible than being fashionable ! I was waiting to put together my new Pastel Prada SS'14 bag(my most viewed pin), and introduce it modestly to this seasons in-demand hues. These Mint Sunnies are a recent buy from HM , and were just the right pick to get a Neopolitan Ice-cream look, and the rest of the Canvas was better put to white (they work the best this way) ! 

A great way to start wearing pastels is through the accents and when it comes to wearing this newly defined palette of noticeable colors, anyone can do it.One just have to choose the shade that works well, and then add a bit of extra drama. I thought it would be more dramatic to add a punch of sherbet something to my neck and brought about my lost and found necklace (I talked about here) before walking out that door .

Maxi Dress| Fashion - Beach Wear

Dull mundane days getting a hoot and cheer of life, well that's neon for me -a perfect anecdote to catch a lil attention.While spring may be the time to turn over a new leaf in fashion and the next moment  we have the runways all flowing down with pastels-  the new ruler of the dynasty ! But what about neons ? Are we over them so soon or they will be a mainstay when it comes to adding the right amount of pizzazz to an outfit ? For me Neon in the most eclectic of shades are sure to add the extra perk in your step, Well they might be officially over for some, but not for me as yet coz  that was the only way I could get you all to notice my holiday tan !

Summer Screams-Pastels, Spring 2013 Trend to Watch for

Pretty excited to announce that its my Blog Anniversary ! Yes..Thefashionflite turns one ! And I seemed to notice about a week late,but never mind..at least I did ! Thank you immensely for all the encouragement and love you all keep showering in your mails,and making this whole blogging experience a fun activity for me.  Initially I was worried- what if I exhaust over all the new ideas,but that's the way blogs are !! At least I  could just write about what I feel,my weakness ,my strengths,fashion and what not,thinking there might be someone out there who resonates with the same ideas.. liberating isn't it ?
Never knew that I could go this far ,but since I have,what better way to acknowledge the landmark than with a new giveaway.. Watch out this space for an exciting one coming for Ya'll !  I think I should indulge in an offline party and share the pics on my Instagram and Facebook Or club it with my birthday party which happens soon too ! Ombre Palette

Today's outfit  is inspired by Cassata,brick like layered ice-creams of different flavors on liqueur soaked sponge,which I doted on during my childhood days !Although it has been ages I indulged in to it,but I am gonna surely do that now, coz this photoshoot just activated my taste buds and old memories! The moment I saw this top, which apparently has all the cassata color palette, I became nostalgic of the days , having it at college canteen and was totally game for bringing this light ombre blouse with me !  Though pastels can be a bit overwhelming, neutral shades provide a fantastic and  fashionable balance, hence I decided to pair this with my white denims(Inspiration chloe and acne ) and some sequins too ! And if you are not ready to say bye -bye to pastels,yet, you can still rock them for fall too ! Here's How:

• Mix up basic fall colors with a pastel color from the same family- (eg- pink +burgundy, pale blue and dark teals, black with sea world inspired colors and so on !
• Pairing them with neutrals always work for the fall look as well ! Remember to incorporate it as an accent color and not the main color of your outfit. 
• Start introducing from bits here and there and see how they look !Add pastels in the form of glossy accessories with dark make-up for the brave high contrast look !

Graphic Tee Trend

This week started of on a hectic note, and planning my daughter's sixth birthday has lately been pushing me to the wall, keeping me busy as a beaver ! Which also means holy deprivation of getting clicked for outfits ! Forget being clicked,most days of the week I swear by my track pants and shoes which makes me feel like a schlub , missing my female playtime getting into makeup, clothes, and shoes with not even a peep into my closet !sigh! WTH? What happened to the girl in stilettos? a question which was asked by my  friend, when I ran into her twice while buying errands ! Am I dressing up to impress OTHER women and their peers? Just a thought I am pondering at right now !
Truthfully, though, I don't think my husband cares what I wear. He responds in exactly the same way when I'm totally scrubbed out as he does when I'm dressed to kill.  These pictures are from the last time being dressed(early october), which ofcource in the blogging world can be branded as ages !

Statement Accessories- The Trend

What  do u do on hot and sultry days, when  humidity climbs up and u  sweat from all your pores? Stay indoors and click for outfit posts ! That's what I did for this shoot ! The best part about shooting indoors is that I could hop in and out of  the living room to get  doze of some Air conditioning,makeup touch ups every now and then,Having a good think about any particular poses which I might want to try and then check out the pics on pc and do some fine tuning simultaneously; while continuously sneaking in the luxury of doing my routine saturday household chores like watering my plants, dusting the corners and so on. U can shuffle between things, only if  your photographer is a cool guy or he takes too long between shots !  End result = Good pictures and household work complete.
