DAY 3 POONAM DUBEY FOR AIFWSS16

The Masakali vibes opened the show for Poonam Dubey. The song has a lot of emotions, and the  fusion Indian wear presented had similar feelings, for eg from gypsy vibes, to phulkari work on the dupattas, Angrakha paired with white dhotis, mirror work , intricate thread weaving and jalli design sitting pretty on the back, took us on a humming note and my mind wandered a wee bit to the lanes of Delhi-06 .
The colour palette carried different hues of blue. Interesting patchwork, delicate capes panelled skirts , and flared lehengas were the main highlights of her collection. The sari had lovely pocket detailing, and the lehengas were made for twirling.

ARCHANA RAO FOR AIFWSS16

Had always appreciated her clothing line be it frou-frou or her new collection at AIFWSS16.
It started with beautiful fitted  midi dresses, great details like leather straps, sheer belted coats over pencil skirts followed.Long overcoats, layered over tulle skirts, with printed sleeves , beautiful pearl details ,scalloped  lace cut work , and slip dresses were the highlights. The colours were nude , whites and blush and the tulle dresses had great asymmetric cuts . The trousers flowed with delicate rhythm on the ramp, and the jackets were love at first sight .
Pernia Qureshi walked the ramp looking refined and sublime in one of her pearl skirt paired with a simple white collared shirt with kundan layered necklace.

NIKHITA FOR AIFWSS16
If there was one show I waited for with bated breath was Nikhitha's . Had to be coz our gorgeous blogger Shreya represented our blogging community on the ramp and was her stunning showstopper . I love her blog for her choicest style statements and bold fashion sensibilities .
She killed the ramp, and her outfit was beyond feminine.Lauren Gottlieb (also the showstopper) looked refined and pretty in an asymmetrical trumpet dress with slicked hair.
Her collection drew inspiration from architectural components with fluid patterns, hence the highlights were structured whites with myriad cuts and the printed statement jackets which looked well paired with whites. Nikhita calls the cold blue and printed graphics, the new neutrals.
There were pleated layered dresses, eyelet, peplum with trail, and interesting zipper back . The laser cut dresses looked intense, very complimentary , and left me urging for a chic invite to a cocktail party.Loved the hairdo as well- chic, no fuss and classy to go with the sassy dresses.
