#AIFW - Hemant And nandita -Boho Caravan | Indian Fashion Designers

Wednesday, 8 April 2015 / , , , ,

hemant and nandita Indian designers

The designer duo Hemant and Nandita collection Boho Caravan  made me  day dream . Day dream into watching a replay of the movie  Bandidas . It was truly an art of story telling. It was a tribal gypsy, with a free flowing mind of its own , and a reflection of the same in those free flowing cover-ups, kaftans, and maxi dresses. The added touch of fringes, silver jewellery took me on a joy ride of watching a nomadic folk with a sophistication that felt as new and in sync with today's times. The rich colour scheme of olives, mustard and dull red had details inspired by pop floral abstract print. Woollen capes, and blankets were delicately attached to the maxi dresses which really filtered the hippie spirit well.
Every little detail from printing, the fabric, dyeing had a personal city girl turned turned a country cool touch.  The music literally made us all sway , and if you haven't thought of fringes yet, its time you do.

#AIFW Presents Sleeping Beauty | An Ode to Romantic Indian Wear By Pratima Pandey

Tuesday, 7 April 2015 /

Indian wedding wear, designer Pratima pandey, amazon fashion week

I love How Indian Wear has evolved over the past recent years, rather past fashion shows. That's exactly what we got to see in the collection themed "Sleeping Beauty" by Pratima Pandey inspired from the Japanese concept of "Waba Sabi" which saw a great transformation in the way we look at  Anarkali Suits . The collection was basically Indian garments , and the effortless romanticism being depicted through garments. It kind of evoked the Perennial love for all thing silk sarees worn by mom. But anything which spins a modern day cocktail of seemingly replace floor length tunics with delicate floral embroidery with clever peeks of wool, dabka and phulkari motifs. The layering technique has totally gotten me by the leg all credits this Grazia young awards . So glad to have watched this live, it kinda already set in my moodboard for summers, besides would  do anything to get these color palette on my hands  :)

Brand Spotlight - ZOIRO Party

Tuesday, 17 February 2015 / ,

Today's new age crowd, love everything cutting-edge. Be it couture, high street fashion or intimate inner wear. Believe it or not, men are equally vocal about their choices in fashion too.
Recently I met the Italian sisters duo, who design innerwear for men under the brand name- Zoiro. The designs from the brand are totally their inception and are not only trendy, but are made of materials that totally enhance wearing comfort.
There was a press con a few months back, and the designers Claudia and Paola Piatti , are not just famous internationally as great contributors but in fact are the famous hands behind a lot trendy innerwear/Outerwear/sportswear brands worldwide. To name it a few are : Paul frank, Fila, Chicco, gas, replay and many more . We have already been familiar with these designs , and bringing the same concept for this brand was an ideal choice too. If you loved those you would love the fun prints at  Zoiro definitely .

Zoiro is an Indian initiative, ticked off by its Director Mr. Navin Sheksaria, and the pieces from the collection has already hit the Indian shelves about an year ago. The core focus of the brand has primarily been fit- and with factors such as function n design all being thoroughly considered throughout the design process.
The sister duo was really excited to bring the trendy and stylish designs at prices which were really affordable and within the buying reach of every common men , who wants to  make a statement without spending a tad too much for the basics.

Thursday, 18 December 2014 / , , , , , , ,

Hair coloring is the new -"Makeup for Hair " and it cannot be overlooked coz self confidence is factoring into self-image lately. Need a boost of confidence ? Or wanna change the way people perceive about you ? Then better be the color chameleon !!
Its been two months since I got "High- Art "Red highlights from Geetanjali Salon. I loved the whole experience and my priceless look post that, which fetches me lot of compliments(till date ). Not to forget, it was first time I experimented with different colors. And with the tiny maintenance , I was able to retain the color for this long too.
The people at Geetanjali's knows my love for being wacky, hence called me over last week for a session with the industry's most consulted color expert- Sumit Israni, for hair color assessment, and add on some more color to my hair and persona .

JAS ARORA debuts Modern Craft Atelier at Hotel JW Marriot, Aerocity, New Delhi

Saturday, 22 March 2014 / , , , , , ,

It was an evening of dazzle, fun and fashion when Actor turned entrepreneur Jas Arora with Sandeep Gupta,Executive Director, Asian Hotels west ltd. played the perfect hosts to celebrate the launch of  his debut ,bespoke modern craft fashion atelier  “Jas Arora”  at JW Mariott Aerocity, New Delhi. The well heeled fashion lovers of the capital came together to raise a toast to celebrate the opening over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
Dressed smartly in white pants and A Duke blue jacket, lending a pop of color through his Orange Hermes belt, with a string of Beads round the neck, Jas possessed every bit of the swag to leave everyone spell bound. He took over the evening in posing with the paparazzi and talking about his venture and the collection.
I was totally left in awe by the way he shook up his personal clean shaved look years back, and brought in the nasty overgrown mooch, which truly got a lot of  women attention on my Instagram Page(check check).
Singer Jasbir Jassi- of "Dil le gayi" Fame is Such a humble being . He truly needs to make a comeback- don't ya'all think ?
Let's Talk about the collection - Well, the collection  seemed to be perfectly perched on the line between what is fashion-forward and what people would love to wear. Their was a color riot, in the men's jacket shouting out loud in pretty pastels. It somehow meant to be giving a message to all the Menfolk- "Stay colorful this spring".Besides the color, the Jackets were given the perfect  cuts while the baroque ones seemed to be pushing the visual limits. However, it’s interesting to note how the designer translates his taste into what they themselves wear, which was pretty evident from Jas Arora's delicious burst of personal style.
For the women, it had everything to fall very much in love with, be it the colors(blended well in a lovely amalgamation of intricate designs), the choli's and the bridal lehengas just seemed to be perfectly tailored.
The minute we walked inside the store, we got enamored with the interiors. Totally art filled and grand. The already Luxe interiors were outfitted with wall to wall Poster size Glamour portrait of the designer himself ,which was worth a dig.Impressive -must admit.
That's us making use of whatever time we had to mingle over a glass of wine and getting lost n posing for the Photo op Marathon.

Sharing his insights on the store opening, Jas Arora said, “My vision is to create a wardrobe that is sharp in both look and pricing, and is designed for the glamorous urban consumer. Hence I am also providing a distinct service with the USP of customization to whoever walks in to the store.”
You can buy the collection at Hotel JW Marriot , Aerocity, Delhi Or visit- http://www.jasarora.com/
