Layering | Winter Whites

Happy 2015 Everyone !! I had my very own fashionable moments on my blog in 2014. Inspirations, street styles and we all shared this journey together. Ever grateful to all of you, who take out time to visit my fashion literature , ramblings ,fauxpas moments ,and double grateful for always leaving some encouragement behind. You were awesome , as I was, and that's what making me jump with joy right now (did I mention jumping on the bed ?)

With each passing month my passion grew, and I started to know what actually I was getting into. Not denying the fact that blogging has introduced me to things , that I otherwise would have never been able to experience  This year I am planning to take stock of my my seriousness improve up on the presentation part , and make this love affair to be a more lucrative experience to all of you who come to me with a motto.
So here is what 2015 holds for me with you being a part of it of course :
** Big news: I am coming up with my own label, a handpicked collection of all things boutique and limited edition pieces , which you can shop from my blog and Facebook page.
** More Hair tutorials in 2015- Subscribe to my You-tube if you haven't already !
** More out of bound styles and experiments with Clothing ,make-up and stuff for you to try too. So definitely a shock value to all my readers, and work has already started. Blue lips anyone ?
So without Sapping you of all your indigenous Aura, here is my first look of 2015, an outfit I recently wore to Blogmint blogger meet. A first of a kind open forum for bloggers to grow their blogs into business. I was one of the panel members, and it was lovely reaching out to bloggers and troubleshoot a lot of things we never talked about .
Thank you all for being a part of my journey in 2014, and here is to more promising and fashionable 2015 ! Cheers !!!

Fashion Trend-Stripes And Layering

In India(specially Delhi), its a bit of a daring expression if you roam about on the streets wearing a tube or a spaghetti. Even though you pull the look fantastically, women are supposed to wear place-appropriate clothes, unless its Ok for you to go out and be hounded by prying eyes, which is not the case with most of girls- And that  I am pretty sure of .
Shrugs have become so Yesterday for me. I always look out for light cover-ups or summery jackets, which can be just thrown on your deep tanks or noodle necks .And for this simplest reason I have bounded love for light button down shirts !
But then I have a small problem with them too.  My Button-down shirts seem prohibitive for movement for me. I feel like I'm in a straight jacket, especially if they are longer sleeve.  I look good in them if they are more fitted , but I just can't get comfortable. Not to sound like a broken Record, but if you hate something , do not wear it ! Doesn't matter who says its a must have or a classic piece. Just Screw it ! 
So Instead , I always fish for a perfect button down in my Hubs closet  for layering during monsoons or always buy them in one size big !! Problem solved.
Layer your buttons down with a  boring dress, and you could bring life to it .
Layer them over, Hide your tanks/ tubes with a buttons down, and you become the next sober girl in your locality !!
Layer them underneath a tunic/Cardi and you have an Evolved look in seconds .
And before you become judgmental in what I really have for this Black and  White stripe skirt, or whether my wardrobe has gone in for a strike Its better I downpour you with OOTD Pictures.

Winter Gallop- HorsePrint Sweater

How do we accomplish the European Knack of owning less and looking better ? I have no shame in admitting that a lot of my clothes are there to just meet my fantasy fashion version and after a while feel guilty of the hole burnt in my savings !  If you are on twitter with me, you would recall all those tweets I sent out affirming that I won't be checking out this year's sales ! Since the winters had already set in by that time and I had enough to stay fashionable throughout, I didn't complain a bit !! Though reminded myself of the fact when I find something that’s not ho-hum and really affordable, I 'll give in and buy it off the racks to be used next winters,which didn't happen  too !!  Wanna know Why? Here's a little trick---When something catches my eye at the clearance section,  I always ask myself “Am I more in love with the price or am I more in love with the item? This way I can put an end to my spiritless shopping too .. ! But the moment I saw this Horse Print Sweater, I couldn't hold my horses  and gave in to the amazing print plus( awesome price) !! After all, Retail therapy is meant for human beings. Have a look !

Winter Styling-Polkas All Over

Introducing my recent Obsession- Polkas ! Inspiration - Minnie Mouse ! I loved them as a kid, I love them as a mom, and I would still love them when I 'll be in my eighties - If Incase I get to see how my wrinkled face would look by then ! Polkas are vintage and they are fit for every age woman! Period. If you are a guy and you plan to impress a woman, better invest in a Polka tie,and convey fun n playfulness mood and your youthful flair ! (btw, I just got one for my man, and it looks so damn cool ) !  I got this dress last year from Zara,and tragically the next week it went on a sale for almost half the price ! Damned it, Last wore it here and since then it hasn't seen daylight for months !  This jacket was damned too when an oversize Fat grumpy polar bear a.k.a me,tried to fit in this about five years back !! Dumped it, Determined, that I might fall off the wagon someday, and wouldn't mind sneaking in ! Now glad that I hung on to it ! Victory was achieved in this POST(finally).
My own Set,Self Reminders:
Once I lose weight, I'm never putting it back.
Discarding bigger clothes coz  I am NOT  Permitting myself to get fat again.
Holding out to the skinny ones not because I am stuck in the past,but because I would like to look onto them for my future . ..

The Art of Layering

Layering clothes can instantly make you look chic and always create an exciting new look !
Items you need- Belts,summer scarves,necklace, linen/cotton vests,socks,hats,and just any of your favorite pieces the closet has to offer ... See its that easy ! Layering in winter technically doesn't require that much skill,while layering in summers can become tricky at times,thinking of all that extra sweat that  comes with this trend !

Since I love to experiment with different layers, I have just knocked down the quintessential tips which might just come handy :)

Yes/Always- Summer/Spring Layering

• Keep this style more for casual outings,where you can experiment with different pieces to look cool !
• Always Wear Tees,lacy or fitted dresses,tanks,camisoles underneath ,while shrug,sheer blouses and button downs to be worn on top ! Light weight fabrics are best and are not too hot too ! Cinch your waist with a belt to add a second layer,if you have a narrow waistline 
• For accessories, layer bangles and necklaces which are really trendy right now or try anything vintage  to make you look cute and still stand out in a good way .
• If you are in your tweens ,go for T-shirts/Racer back, on top of tank for a peek-a-boo effect . Alternatively wear a flowing light vest over your shirt to add dimension .

Don't/Never- Summer/Spring Layering

• Keep it elegant and layer according your age and body type.
• Don't go overboard !Sometimes you don't need to layer... Just accessorize, it pulls the outfit in together.
• Avoid too much  layering for formal meetings or at most go for a standard  shirt and blazer look. Add more fun by replacing blazer with a crochet cardigan(only of your work place is insanely cold inside)Add a summer scarf and make sure you don't do any fancy ties,unless you want to squelch in them.

Go lighter and express yourself by enjoying the look of layered clothing by keeping all these things in mind and stay stylish all summers !
