A Day In Loungewear | The Club Emerald - Mumbai

Wednesday, 6 July 2016 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

These summer holidays were a perfect time for me to gussy up and go out, but hubster was too less inclined to spend time with family. It was a holiday vs Work Tug-O -War situation at home.
The work kept him busy all throughout , and he was a living example of Ass Jack of all trades,( work front ) engrossed in climbing some Mt. Kilimanjaro, Disconnected and not reachable. It was time to break a bottle of some old wine, alone at home, when an idea struck me to follow him everywhere.
Co-incidentally both of ours work made us land in Mumbai at the same time. Now it was a golden opportunity to take a break from solo-parenting and just throw everything and perform my laid back couch potato edit.
Things became slow. Mumbai was rainy and sluggy, not that I am loving Delhi at the moment, but its that time of the year where the pattern of sweat don't know the city its trickling down from. Yes, Monsoons !!
Obviously we don't have a different wardrobe for monsoons, like we do for winters, but casuals and lounge-wear only seems like an obvious directional choice in this weather which on a side note, also lets me achieve the bonus of every conceivable form of daily activity and save me the Gusset between my legs too ( I said that on Instagram already )......
This Kurti and the linen pant set was the most dressed up I needed to be on a rainy day in Mumbai. You can see my hair is tied up already in a bun. Kurta's can prove to be a Mecca for lounge-wear and also maximise your chill time and that's what precisely I was doing at newly launched Sports Club -Emerald in Chembur, Mumbai. I think there is room for style and taste in every part of women's life. But its only when a fancy place like Club Emerald which is full of luxury notes provides a vantage point for me to swaddle myself up with a cup of coffee in the quietness of the library and loose myself to a book.  After hours of curling up on that library sofa couch, I got in a mood to hit the playground , play some squash and it was exactly when I found out that this Fab India outfit proved every bit in the righteousness to obscure my secondary sex characteristic, unencumbered and non fussy.

Fantasy Fringes and Face Paint | Trends | Forecasting

Tuesday, 28 June 2016 / , , , , , , ,

I have started marking my fashion boundaries with a sense of peculiarity. There is a certain interest in fashion, which has piqued me to exploring appearing culture, trends and uniqueness of my mind to indulge in fantasy. This moment of fashion snipping from the flow of ideas, usually known to my brain and unending hours of  sifting images and genre on Pinterest, Jettisoned towards something more exciting and experimental, that either you would like to throw a chair at me, or embrace me with particularly elicit response. Either ways its my vocabulary of fashion, and I if you cannot be a student, then be a spectator, and take things with a pinch of salt, coz what you are gonna see now may not be everyone's cup of tea.
I tried my hands on face paint. I have been really fascinated by this controversial form of makeup, and dug deep in the roots. And look what I found !!!  Indian mythology has been full of it.
Body Paint which masquerade as art but fully inhibit the appropriation of a personal style statement was found from the birth of ancient civilisations and among the creepy sadhus and Naga Babas of vedic times to Lord Krishna .
After witnessing coloured brows as exuberant as any visual drama, its time to take things up a notch. This outfit was conceptualised as a modern interpretation which resonates elements which I cleverly picked in accord with street style, and these painted brows which I practised outside the hidden runway of the most talked about high fashion show of Delhi, where I got to strut my experiments while still being low key.
The drama created by lots of silver cocktail jewellery,  the asymmetric draped slip dress and this fringe belt is quite playful, because I would have twirled a zillion times to make things move in symmetry, but guess my wardrobe has its mind of its own. I have a few shaken images for you to piss you off  ( That's some major commitment to photography). Can't blame, coz the man behind the lens (Abhimanyu ) is a major major major street style photographer. I see a little bit of  American street style photographer Bill Cunningham  in him. R.I.P Bill.

Cape And Tassels

Sunday, 1 November 2015 / , , , , , , , , , ,

Today's outfit is a chalk full of ultra femme paired with beautifully rendered conversation starters. Why should a women not love statement pieces ? Be it a statement dress or jewellery , surrealism with modest elements evokes a homage to beautifully rendered brave looks.
This cape dress with pretty florals worn at fashion week last month brings a new meaning to outerwear which has a mix of both parisian and street, is the forefront of good taste we are fed with at sometime.
The look is pretty basic, but the detailing pushes the edges out. I worked along these statement earrings and a simple cuff  available online at wildflower.inc to lend a small bit of ornamentation to the whole look, which does not take attention away from either the outfit or the jewellery, rather complement each other and deliver intelligent mix and tweak for the chic to happen .
Although this look appears effortless, but to tell you the truth, there is a very smart amount of calculation behind  it to get it right. I decided to piece together everything, thinking that I would be wearing the look from AM- PM hence I dare not ERR on the most practical side ie. to incorporate flats .Although  nothing in the world could part me away from the most comfy shoes in my closet (more ideas for you)but the lightening truth is that I feel I could have enhanced the look better   with a nice pair  of criss cross straped sandals as well.

Introducing Wildflower.Inc
The jewellery at wildflower is instinctively desirable, comes at a great price, looks ultra modern, rich and expensive (while being not ),and bring a new meaning to the idea of freshly inspired trend notes and should be a included in every trendy  ,for the love of fashion girls who also loves a loaded stake of her accessory repertoire.

Lace, Animal print And A Kurta Makeover-Blogger Inspired

Tuesday, 11 June 2013 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

There is no set of rules or people from whom I take Inspiration ! At times its magazines, or internet-Mostly Pinterest and Polyvore ,or our own fellow bloggers. Basically I just see what I like and work my own style from that .
Today's outfit is roused from our very own desi blogger ! This blogger recently put an ironic spin in the number of ways a basic kurta can be worn  ! With every post of her's on the kurta series she really left me aww with her Sartorial creativity !  I loved all her variations and original twist , and am sure you'll love them too !
Yes,she is Abhilasha from Looking good feeling fab blog !  It was actually a visual feast for me to see her switch that kurta  and creating looks which were edgy and preppy at one moment while girly and formal the next !
Hey Abhilasha ! Thank you for making it easy for me to pave my way for this post !
So stealing this original idea of hers and taking the liberty to add my own twist to the kurta makeover , here is my take on the version ! I got this one from Bangkok about 2 years back and have worn it to death ! With that I mean ,I could see it wearing out this time ! Gave it a rough fold on the hem from the front and left it hanging from the back to give a mullet effect, and Voila ! A simple look in minutes is ready to be served on the blog !

Do check out Abhilasha's Blog for more kurta makeovers, and let me know if you would love to see me doing a few more spins as well !!(stylish fashion dress wear/ indian fashion)
Will you try this look too ? I would love to know from ya'll !!
