I am Overdressed all the time

Stone Jewellery - Buy Stone Jewellery Online at Best Prices in India

This post displays a haze of affectionate nostalgia , the calm of summers, the unstudied effortlessness, carefree mood, unencumbered and in sync with some patterns which have survived time's decay.
Today I am going to Introduce you all to my new favourite brands - Obeetee Rugs and Cotton Rack.
I was sent one of the finest pieces of  Obeetee rugs rendering Weaves and designs relating to ancient motifs and fine arts and intricate detailing . Indian Veteran designer Tarun Tahiliani recently designed a few majestic carpets as a part of Proud to Be Indian collection for Obeetee, which has his signature quintessential Indian design and a great initiative put together as a whole to bring forth country's artistic rug heritage in a more grand and upscale form.
This Rug has already taken a centre stage in my living room and clearly reflects the hopes and desires on display in the detailed motifs, design and the colour which renders wealth and prestige or a social identity in its old world charm kind of a weave.
My idea of wearing this dress and sitting on the carpet was conceptualized even before I saw this rug and much before it was even sent out.
Cotton Rack is a premium and; ethical Khadi lifestyle brand with attention to details and minimal designs. Its a pure amalgamation of the traditional and the most grounded, zero carbon footprint Khadi with contemporary cuts and silhouettes that suits the modern & mature palate.
Brainchild of Vinayak and Rameshwari, this Smart Khadi white dress has a pure blend of Cashmere wool and Coolness of cotton alike. Two years into the research and then finally coming up with Khadi minus the coarseness is what keeps the balance of the outfit. Kudos to you both for bringing out great value to the garment .
Our successive generation has a total less of an idea what was life back then when people lived out a pure Khadi moment. Many years later still gearing towards sustainability, brands like these should definitely be supported and promoted.
Our Prime Minister's Drive -  Make In India is well echoed through these two brands.
I felt the aesthetics of both the brands was an equal marriage and invoke a visible yet irresistible tale of an imagined era and its recreation in the best way I could put forth through a picture story.
Clearly these photos are my sole interpretation of a character ( in my head) . Initially I wanted to portray / Evoke Hallowed ideals of virtuous women, but things took a different shape when I spoke to Sahil about the kind of mood I wanted my pictures to have.  Turns out he wanted me to have a Halo instead and suggested we bring some flowers to add to the mood. I opened my closet to him and we settled on this flower crown to create a Pseudo Halo something something ..... .
There I was sitting on the Rug ,flashing in my mind was the fairy tale of Aladdin and his magic carpet, picturing the movie, step by step ( in 3D) with my eyes closed, feeling the clouds, when suddenly with a loud thud I came back on mother Earth and split into a rapturous laughter . Sahil while trying to create that magical angle had fallen down from the chair. Lucky for him , only his back was hurt while his camera wasn't.
Sometimes creativity does bite back and you may or may not notice from the sequence of my photographs , but post this short take off and landing, we later  settled for only playing with front shots minus the chair.
I hope you like the pictures, and I can't wait to hear what you feel :)
Until Next time !!
Ciao

Flipkart Fashion For Everyone | Disney Party Looks for Little Girls

Sunday, 31 January 2016 / , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

We know how Flipkart has introduced us to a social shopping frenzy , with so many features in the app that it has been a weekly custom for fashion addictive bloggers like me to check what's trending in fashion  . Flipkart has a fantastic bustling community of artists/brands and independent designers and is spawning products from so many categories like, jewellery, homeware, apparel etc. which makes it a trending place to spend my money for all my fashion related woes.
Recently I was surprised at how cost effective it was to shop for desirable fashion products whilst there was an ongoing #FlipkartFashionsale .
Staying true to Flipkart's tag line - #fashionforeveryone, and after reading a few more lines down this "postosphere" I would have cleared the air on how fashion is not limited when it comes to shopping from Flipkart.
Currently there is also an exciting contest going on at their brand new fashion website - flipkartfashionforeveryone.com  ,where all you have to do is log on to Instagram and upload a collage of your style from flipkart products and mention #fashionforeveryone in the Caption.
The best entries could win vouchers upto whooping , hell yeah 50k. It could be you, so do it before the time runs out.
As far as my entry goes, here are the two party looks for little girls I created after shopping for these pretty hued evening gowns from flipkart sale.
Any party themed outfit for our little tinkers cannot be complete unless a lot of Princess thing has been done , keeping that aspect in mind, where every little girl , is fantasised by ( previously - Barbie) and currently and in this case precisely Elsa from Frozen. I wish  I could bill Disney at some point of my life, but until then, the sweet hopes doesn't leave me less empowered.

Cape And Tassels

Sunday, 1 November 2015 / , , , , , , , , , ,

Today's outfit is a chalk full of ultra femme paired with beautifully rendered conversation starters. Why should a women not love statement pieces ? Be it a statement dress or jewellery , surrealism with modest elements evokes a homage to beautifully rendered brave looks.
This cape dress with pretty florals worn at fashion week last month brings a new meaning to outerwear which has a mix of both parisian and street, is the forefront of good taste we are fed with at sometime.
The look is pretty basic, but the detailing pushes the edges out. I worked along these statement earrings and a simple cuff  available online at wildflower.inc to lend a small bit of ornamentation to the whole look, which does not take attention away from either the outfit or the jewellery, rather complement each other and deliver intelligent mix and tweak for the chic to happen .
Although this look appears effortless, but to tell you the truth, there is a very smart amount of calculation behind  it to get it right. I decided to piece together everything, thinking that I would be wearing the look from AM- PM hence I dare not ERR on the most practical side ie. to incorporate flats .Although  nothing in the world could part me away from the most comfy shoes in my closet (more ideas for you)but the lightening truth is that I feel I could have enhanced the look better   with a nice pair  of criss cross straped sandals as well.

Introducing Wildflower.Inc
The jewellery at wildflower is instinctively desirable, comes at a great price, looks ultra modern, rich and expensive (while being not ),and bring a new meaning to the idea of freshly inspired trend notes and should be a included in every trendy  ,for the love of fashion girls who also loves a loaded stake of her accessory repertoire.

Anarkali Suit - Fiercely Indian in Red

valliyan jewellery designs,online bridal jewellery
It's been a while since I posted an outfit on Indian wear. You know me and my be-holdence to Mix-O-Logy with outfits, coz I believe there is fashion for everyone in India, and there isn't any colour, style, or mix that shouldn't be left to uncover. It's my devotion to wild prints and offbeat styles that sets my blog on a different bar, and I know the cult which loves me doing that, and I love you too for the same.
Today's look is from a recent #AlterEgo campaign which I did earlier last month with Indian designer Sonal Jain.
If there is any colour that lets you work your wardrobe with ease, is RED. You can actually rationalize your closet space by stocking colours like red, black and white .  This red is electrifying classy, and it gave me a lot of inventory to play with my beautiful baubles too. They are pretty and exactly practical and are now available to shop from right (here).
If you feel Red is too bright for that kind of occasion , or places you need lesser drama, you can tone it down in a flash by adding neutral makeup , just make sure you have a lot of eye-work to play with.
I love the intricate golden embroidery details on this piece.Don't miss the stunner back , and the floral dupatta, which makes it totally cool, up and running for a great contrast. Added a bindi to my styling prowess. It's slowly becoming my signature style, and I love to punctuate my assemble  with these and add a bonus point whenever possible .
Hope this look lets you gear up somewhat for the coming festive season.  Don't forget to Let me know if you like this post ;) Any future recommendations are welcome too.
Keep Shining -xoxo

Happy Mother's Day

Saturday, 9 May 2015 / , , , , , , , , , ,

mothers day
Had been wanting to do a post like this from so long. Also it puts an end to all the queasy looks people give when I disclose that I have a daughter . Really ? How big ? Man I never knew that, tilting their heads in angles which I am discovering just about recently. Clearly I don't fit the stereotype of how a mother looks like.As of now we can say that I am blessed to have happy genes.
My Mom(Resting in Heaven), had hair like mine(which of course y'all love) My friends say that I smile like her, and my daughter has her eyes. She was a fashionista too in her  own classic days. A school teacher by profession, with me as her most intolerant student. She loved her Sari's and had one in every color, ----colors, that now we find only in Pantone. I secretly used to put on her bindis, just before going out to play with my friends. A few made fun, until I thought it was getting too much, and confined Bindi dressing to my bedroom later. She loved Bindis too.
When I grew up, and started exploring make-up, and bought some too  after my first job paid me well, I had never seen anyone so enthusiastic about putting on makeup than her.She told her friends, "My daughter has the best make-up skills." I used to blushingly pinch her and always brushed my elbows with hers, telling her to stop publicly displaying my knack. I was shy. She was too, and my daughter just alike.
Mom was too young when cancer hit her. With all the adversities that came along, symptoms, and hair loss, it was me who still loved brushing my makeup on to her to hide her afflicted look. I saw her age into a seventy year old when she was in her forties. Wish could have made her look young. But my knowledge was limited and so were the developments in skin care.
Ever wished that you could turn back the time ? Every Mother's day I wish the same-Just once. But you know what - If she was here today to witness your surprising glares on my motherhood, I am pretty damn sure about her display of verbal gymnastics to her friends- Yes - My daughter looks the best in her time.

Moods | Dressing Up for a Music Fest In Bangalore

Thursday, 16 April 2015 / , , , , , , , , , ,

stylish bags for women

We all know that Coachella weekend 2 is happening all around. For my fellow readers in US- yayy, but Indians long and wait all year round to get their high on music fests, which could satiate their hunger for fashion, dance, drama, and music. Delhi witnessed emerge last month, and since I couldn't get myself to attend that coz of pouring rains, I got my entry somehow to the Atif Aslam live concert(c/o my lovely friends  from music industry ) happening in Bangalore around the same time as Coachella . On one hand I have started sorting outfits and creating looks anticipating my visit and a small getaway to ooty is being dreamt of and this little air about travel has got  hubs excited in finding a few boutique hotels in Bangalore  and in fact  We are so looking forward to a getaway , and this tickets to the concert is filling me up with a vacation mojo.
On the other hand, this much talked about Coachella is giving a lot of inspiration to dress up to  every fashionista. Social medias are streaming life full of those .
I know I can't go for one, but who says we can't dress up for one. This is also my weekend look, which if things set up nicely and we manage to  get the hotel bookings in Bangalore of my choice, I might just copy this finery , the jewellery drama , and fly out for a weekend.
With this look, I played with antique accents, and this lace co-ords from Stalk buy love were conveying the whole drama. Its fun, its flirty and the whole combo, is a sunny ripping up of my style lookbook.  Although its a whole 90's revival stint, with two smashing separates,Its really interesting to see how the bloggers are taking this trend up a notch with their own re-incarnations. Today I tried something sporty chic again (all-right its not my first ) with Jewellery being the main focus.
I shed my sweet girl image and touched base with my inner eccentric and whacckky .There is another whole new level of fashion and music I am going to explore, and this kind of a getaway is a great excuse to dress up and on to traipsing back and forth.
