Indian Fashion Blog | Fusion Ethnic Outfit | Street Style Delhi

Thursday, 21 April 2016 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Street  !!! The character of any city is expressed through its Streets .They tell a tale . Every street has a name, while the numbered streets gets you going where you want, it's the name of the street, that must be paid attention to..hidden in it is the history, ethnicity, culture, food habits and even the entire mood of the city,
Street Style - What's the first thing that comes to your mind ?
Sidewalks, Food, hawkers, people on the roads, motivation of the people , noise , bustle, shopkeepers, tarot readers, Astrologers(Panditji), Banglewala , haphazardly assembled group of tables at the chaiwala, the girl in rag clothes , the homeless, graffiti on the walls .....accidentally or not, there is a lot of visual effects these streets lend to our subconscious.
While, our sophisticated avatar shops in air conditioned malls, but our inner child is always drawn to this cacophony of cluttered shops . One gives you ease of shopping , and the other offers a personal humane touch and luxury of rummaging through hundreds of things without the obligation of buying. In a local street, I guess, I am able to spend some time with my own self where my inner confusion is able to sync with the clutter of the street just like a river meeting the ocean.
Sometimes its good to be candid and leave the beaten track.
In between all the madness,  strolling in an outfit fit for a wedding, definitely catches the eye. Well that was not the purpose of my post. We took our love for the street to the next level, and thought about bringing a change of how we perceive dressing up in our everyday life. I think this outfit made everything symbolic. Change was quite literally in the air.
We tried to capture various characters  in this post. I was welcomed by the churiwala to get inside the shop, and take pictures. He moved the little halogen dangling from the top , obstructing the camera. Men were at work. The panditji thought that he is going to be the next sensation , and posed for the shutterbug as if he would be the face of front page of the newspaper. Palmistry was rendered free of cost.Chai was ordered. Slippers and bags were taken care of. The entire Indian hospitality was rolled over. We captured many expressions and faces of Panditji , but then I realized he would need a post of his own.
The gift shop was small, but the owner was warm. he offered me tea, and invited his whole family from his home to come and have a look at the" MEMSAHIB"
Soon his kids gathered around me but were soon outnumbered by all the beggars in the vicinity, who expected a huge tip.
If you love shopping but hate the streets , then I have a new website to tell you about that would make your browsing horses gallop. This outfit , ordered from Sareez.com was a made to fit piece.
From varied section of Indian pieces , to fusion wear, to multi designers, this one would definitely awaken the shopaholic in you .
From the fabric to the stitching everything is meticulously done.
A bit skeptical in the beginning I was not sure about the level of fit, and the fabric, since the price points are not very high, I was amazed at the extraordinary service and diligent delivery which was 2X times faster than my nearby masterjee .The colour was pure love, the embroidery is neat, and the style is different. The hint of Marsala with the spice of burgundy is what makes this get its own edge, from the league. The possibility to style this suit is endless. On one day I want to wear the jacket as it is, and on the other switch the Anarkali with something more slaying . A hoarder of everything versatile , I really doubt that any brick and mortar store would have lend me their sartorial talent, into creating something as flexible as this Anarkali.
What do you say ?

Women Ethnic Fashion India Top Brands Collection

Another spring season has sprouted, and with that we finish the winter fashion circuit of 2015. On one hand some of us may get busy tucking back our woolies while on the other fashion savvy women like me find it the most viable  time of the year to see and smell what's new in stores.
After ticking off last season's architecture inspired collection, this season W for Woman , a famous retail brand for women ethnic wear is back with something "UNUSUAL " with our perennial favourites in offbeat styles ,fabrics and patterns unveiled with a new twist. If you are one of those who likes to play cliche, for the heck of being safe, they want you to stop, re-think and do something off beat. And that's exactly where I spent my last Saturday, sifting through the new collection, mixing different prints and silhouettes to come up with an unusual look of our own from the latest SS16 collection at the W outlet in Select City walk , Saket ,Delhi.

Brand Spotlight : Gyans Is Now Online

Wednesday, 17 December 2014 / , , , , ,

Gyans our very own brick-n -mortar boutique stocking the trendiest Ethnic finery, is now online !! I still remember this quaint li'l designer studio which always caught my fantasy, for their beautiful selection of clothes and accessories . A bit more throwback, and Gyans, is a name synonym to my hay day shopping destination. Heck I still posses a pencil skirt, from them bought twelve years back, only in the hope of slipping into it once again. But that's a dream !!
