Cocktail | Toga Dress

Wednesday, 20 August 2014 / , , , , , , , , , ,

This dress is about five years old when my fashion blogging was nowhere on the horizon. The only irritating part is that it clutches to the body like a Claw and makes me look curvier than I actually am. Every girl should at least have a Toga style dress in her stash, The Pink the better. You know movies like Spartans inspire these styles. From a dress robe, it witnessed some more innovative versions and structured forms and the versatility of these styles have allowed it to change with trends. Thanks to  Fashion designers like Shantanu and Nikhil for bringing Rome to India so that we Indian fashion Bloggers could embrace a bit of clever Greek modesty in our dressing up and blend it to suit our culture and times.
I love how the drapes goes from front and back while being stitched to the shoulder. This is my personal pick for formal/casual  fashion blogger parties or social get together. Do you also hoard clothes which has a long history so far ?

Guide to Wearing Optic Prints and High Waist Shorts

Tuesday, 30 July 2013 / , , , , , , ,

Its been ages I did an outfit post on the blog( wish i could tell ya, how i missed ur good ol comments) ! And I have plenitude reasons for not posting ! But let me not Harsh your Marsh mellows, and straight away come down to business ! lol !
I bet  other Delhi Bloggers would agree with me on this that its not the best and fashionable month/moment for most of us who are outdoors, and trying to show some expertise on style and make-up. Its humid, its dry, and I feel like a gross frump :(
I decided to keep my look minimal, hair tied in a simple pony, Optical Print semi sheer chiffon blouse, some High Waist neon shorts to combat the gloom around, minimal make up(I used sunscreen) and if you sweat like a piggy, but intend to wear your make-up then I suggest you carry some blotting sheets around ! I have been using shisedo ones, and they are extremely good ! If possible get rid of big and chunky accessories, and stick with the dainty ones ! AVOID perfumes! Sweet heavens, you don't want to suffocate yourself and the people around you. If you want to smell nice though, use a really light body spray.
And for hair, I say just keep it simple, because that's the key with hot weather. Get a heat tamer or leave in conditioner, to protect your hair  from all the heat outside. And avoid using a lot of heat tools.
That's my way of beating the humidity blues ! Do add up if you know of any other !!

Blender's Pride Fashion Tour,Delhi-2012

Friday, 26 October 2012 / , , , , , , , , ,

Last week Gurgaon witnessed a glam affair by hosting The eighth edition of the blender's Pride fashion tour, and it was great to watch our favorite Bollywood showstoppers setting the ramp on fire !
I attended the event on day II.

Day II saw Nida Mahmood presenting Bombay Bun Maska, the most quirkiest and well thought off name, inspired by the popular snack from Mumbai ! The collection depicted style for people who are non-pretentious and believe in creating their own expression, which was clearly visible in the fun melange of colors and patterns ! The designs were quirky, fun and Boho, and pretty much wearable as if created for the AAM JANTA(mango people like you and me) ! Her collection comprised of long dresses, psychedelic prints, earthy colors and natural materials with a hint of 70′s flair. And all those men, who are hungry for her quirky designs and prints, there is good news, as this time her collection has a place for our dear male dressers too!!!

Heartthrob Vidyut Jamwal sizzled the ramp for Nida’s quirky collection

Neeta Lulla's collection was all about Goth which was inspired by beautiful Hollywood actress Monica Bellucci and I loved the way she played with black elements in her collection ! A revolt against slick fashions and the colorful pastels and extravagance was proved in her collection while bringing in pure sophisticated elegance that is subtle but refined ! Gorgeous models  in glamorous ghouls dressed in form-fitting  and coal-tinted  dresses, which was truly a jaw dropping sight for me,and I was literally applauding her sense of creativity !Profusion of black sheer silhouette , with touches of baroque , well accessorized with precarious stilettos and jewelry depicting religious and occult theme was the highlight of her show !

Style Diva Sameera Reddy looked chic in Neeta’s collection as the show stopper.

Shantanu And Nikhil, presented bridal couture, based on Romance, with a blend of traditional, contemporary yet modern designs !
The contours of the garments by the designers create new trendsetting silhouettes in luxurious laces to recreate the beauty of a festive carnival.. When  Creativity incorporates with color through the beautiful fabrics and laces, which is influenced by the French boudoir and baroque eras as well as the Hollywood movies of yesteryear, while creating a romantic and feminine look, then every piece has to be cream of the crop! The designers have an extensive appreciation of what makes for a stylish, elegant and quintessential bridal glamor before the big day. This appreciation could be seen in their Couture designs as well the beautiful fabrics and laces being used in their collection !

The not so quirky me !
